RECONSTRUCTION MASTER PLAN FOR THE ECUADORIAN COAST AFTER THE EL NIÑO NATURAL DISASTER
This effort was undertaken by three of Urbana’s senior consultants for the newly-created Regional Development Agency named Corpecuador, and the Ecuadorian Vice President’s Office in charge of the reconstruction of the country’s coastline, after the disasters caused By the: El Niño phenomenon. The study was a mayor effort funded by the World Bank, within the Project and Assistance Preparation Credit Program, of the Ecuadorian government.
The assignment was to develop a Reconstruction Master Plan, to remedy urban damages in 78 coastal cities in Ecuador. Including: housing,basic infrastructure, schools, health centers, flooding control infrastructures, and community upgrading. The study is part of a National Reconstruction Strategy Program.
