RESEARCH AND POLICY FORMULATION: STUDY OF URBAN POVERTY AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN ECUADOR
Development of a technical comprehensive assistance plan for the formulation of urban Strategies in Ecuador. The study was broken down into three sections:
1. Urban poverty and its significance for the economic mobility of the impoverished in Ecuador's urban areas.
2. Urban population and economic growth in the cities.
3. Sources and the utilization of urban development funds.
Choosing the case-study methodology as the appropriate way to manage a project of national dimensions, two cities with high growth rates and low living standards were selected, leading to the definition of prioritized intervention strategies.
